Tom Douglis

With over 25 years as a professional communicator, brand-builder and organizational storyteller, Tom Douglis is a recognized strategic architect of award-winning brand programs for local, national and global organizations.

He has led hundreds of successful brand engagements, including brand-related work for Fortune 500 corporations such as Barclays, IBM, Ford Motor Company, Western Union, First Data Corporation and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), as well as top health care organizations such as Brigham and Women's Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Yale New Haven Health. He also works with small businesses, non-profits, universities and government agencies.

Before founding the Douglis Group in 2014, Tom was Managing Director and Senior Brand Strategist for Monigle Associates in Denver from 2003 to 2014, Vice-President at Enterprise IG (now Brand Union) in New York City from 1999-2002, and held senior brand consulting positions in Toronto at Tudhope Associates (Now Interbrand Canada) and Sutton/Javelin Communications (Now Sutton Integrated) from 1994-1999. His pre-1994 career included stints in public relations, journalism and advertising.

Tom earned his MBA (with highest honors) from the University of Westminster in London, his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Denver and completed advanced journalism coursework at Harvard University.

He is a frequent speaker at conferences in the USA, Canada and Europe and has lectured at several graduate schools of business in the USA and the UK.

Brenda Cutler

With a background in journalism and law, Brenda is a creative problem-solver who leads our naming practice, creating corporate naming solutions for major clients across the United States.

Among her many successful naming projects, Brenda led the team that created Civica Rx, a $100 million not-for-profit consortium of six major health systems and private foundations building a new drug company to help ensure that essential generic medications are available and affordable to everyone.

Brenda also leads Douglis Group’s qualitative research team, and is a RIVA-trained moderator. She has conducted extensive qualitative research projects for both the Douglis Group and as an independent consultant in Colorado and New York, where her brand consulting highlights included projects for the world's largest brand firm, Enterprise IG.

Prior to joining Douglis Group, Brenda also organized and oversaw installation of exhibitions at New York's Museum of Arts and Design.

Previously, Brenda worked as a lawyer and award-winning mediator in Canada, developing mediation programs and conducting thousands of business and commercial mediations for the Government of Ontario in the 1990s.

Brenda holds a Master of Laws (LLM) Degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution, as well a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, both from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Toronto. She also holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree (with highest honors) from Carleton University in Ottawa, and has a certificate in Arts Management from New York University.

Scott Mahlmeister

Scott has worked in graphic design for more than 20 years with a focus on interactive digital design. He has led digital brand projects for Fortune 500 clients including: General Electric, Deloitte, CenturyLink, Carnival Cruise Lines, DuPont Colonial Life and Vanguard Investments.

He has guided clients through the entire creative process, from concept, through design and production, to final completion and beyond on large and small scale branding initiatives, advertising campaigns, online customer portals, responsive corporate websites, and mobile apps.

Scott is a BFA graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Keith has extensive global experience in design, visual identity and communications in the United States, the UK, Portugal and Brazil.

Keith's client portfolio includes: Kellogg's, Safeway, Arrow Electronics, First Data Corporation, HP, Intel, P&G, Charles Schwab, Microsoft, Visa, United Airlines, FedEx, Agilent, Dow Corning, AutoNation, Groove Automotive, GE, and Western Union. In heath care, Keith has worked with Montefiore Medical Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Adena Health System, Fiserv Health, and Mercy Health Ministry.

Keith has worked for some of the world's top brand firms, including positions as Design Director at the flagship office of Landor Associates in San Francisco, Design Director at Batagliesi Associados in Sao Paulo and Senior Designer at Monigle Associates in Denver. Keith was also Senior Designer at the British Council in London.

Keith is a graduate of Ravensbourne College of Art & Design in London.

Mark Toft

A co-founder of the Narrator Group in Denver, Mark grew up in Wyoming, where he worked as a ranch hand and later advised two Governors of Wyoming shaping public policy and messaging. His real expertise is storytelling. He has written, published and taught fiction writing—and launched his advertising career in Boston, where he was the lead interactive writer for the Staples Easy Button.

Mark has over 15 years of experience helping hospitals, government agencies, governors, technology and telecommunication companies and Fortune 500 brands tell their stories. His clients have included CenturyLink (where he created the "Slinky" campaign with Jay Sunny), Qwest, Breckenridge, Flying Dog, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, FedEx, Staples, CUNA Mutual, Lancaster General Health, Wyoming Medical Center, KentuckyOne Health and Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Mark graduated with distinction from Stanford University and earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis.
